Conflict Management

Introduction

In this training, Thomas Jordan, associate professor at the Department of Sociology and Work Science at the University of Gothenburg and an expert on workplace conflicts, lectures on why conflicts arise and how to deal with them. His lecture is based on a dramatised workplace conflict that you will be introduced to initially.

The training is intended to be carried out jointly, with employer representatives and union representatives/safety representatives at a large screen and with a computer. Click CC in the menu bar of the videos to turn on closed captions.

A fictional workplace conflict

In this video, you'll visit the fictitious Agency for Cultural Promotion, ACP, which is planning a big "Culture Vision 2.0" conference. ACP employee Beata is responsible for both the main seminar and the opening video for the entire event, but gets frustrated when she does not get the support she expects from her colleague Per-Arne.
